In this fourth edition, we will introduce the place recommended by the players and coaches from Daido Steel Red Star. They are a men's volleyball team whose hometown is Chita City.

Aiming for V1 with the motto of speed, courage, and strength!

A men's volleyball team with a long history established in 1968. The team's nickname, "Red Star," expresses the team's passionate desire to fight and become a shining star.
They have been a member of V-League Division 2 since 2018.
Currently, the team is aiming to go up to V1. Playing with speed, courage, and strength.

Shinmaiko Marine Park Blue Sun Beach

About 10 minute walk from Shinmaiko Station

A fun leisure spot to enjoy the nature of the sea

"Shinmaiko Marine Park" opened in 1997. It offers year-round fun with swimming beaches, a dog run, a multipurpose lawn, and fishing facilities.
There is also a barbecue area, and if you make a reservation in advance, you can use the barbecue facilities without any supplies.
"There is also a beach volleyball court, which I sometimes visit to train and give myself a refresher," says Otsubo.

It is also easy to access on foot from Shinmaiko Station.

The court is crowded during the summer when tournaments are held.

The 435-meter-long Shinmaiko Fine Bridge connects to the opposite shore.

A gymnasium where Daido Steel Red Star's home games are played. In addition to volleyball, the facility can be used for handball, badminton, basketball, table tennis, and other ball games. Otsubo, who often uses the facility, says, "The staff here is very helpful and kind."

City Junior High School Volleyball Club


Playing volleyball with local junior high school students

"When we held volleyball classes in the past, we had a great time with the energetic children," said Director Hirano.
He said that meeting the children is an important memory for him, and he also said, "I remember the friendship I developed with them."
The recent Covid incident has made it difficult to hold this event, but he says "We can't wait for the day to be held again!"

Noodle Restaurant Hanjirou

About 10 minutes walk from Shinmaiko Station

Always crowded at lunchtime! A well-known restaurant that is loved by the locals.

The special curry udon is blended with several kinds of curry powder. Once you try it, you will be addicted to it.
"The spiciness had a lingering taste, and I ate it all up in one go," said Sakai.
The udon is made with flour imported from Shikoku, the home of Sanuki udon, and has a firm texture.
For lunch, you can choose your favorite udon noodle, and it includes miso katsu (pork cutlet) or pork ginger yaki (fried pork with ginger). The lunch is very satisfying!

Cafe Novatann

About 3 minute walk from Daimon-mae Busstop (Chita Bus Okada Line)

Nostalgic and comfortable cafe just like your parent's house.

Renovated from an 80-year-old nursery, this old private house café is located in the old town of Okada. The interior, with its Showa-era atmosphere, including bookshelves and a foot-pedal sewing machine, offers a relaxing atmosphere. Dishes such as the famous "seiro nabe with lots of vegetables" are filled with vegetables from the Chita Peninsula. Sweets such as cakes and waffles, and breakfast are also available.

Old streets of Okada

About 2 minute walk from Daimon-mae bus stop (Chita Bus Okada Line).

Travel back in time by having a walk through the retro city streets!

Chita cotton has long been woven as a side job for farmers. The name became widely known in the Edo era when Nakajima Shichiemon and others in the former Okada Village introduced the bleaching technique.
This area, which flourished as the center of Chita cotton production until the 1960s, still retains black-walled walls, namako-wall houses, and warehouses, giving the area a nostalgic atmosphere. There is also a workshop where visitors can experience the traditional techniques of twisting and weaving.

Along the gently curving road, there were cotton mills, stores, and theaters.

"Chita Okada Simple Post Office", opened in 1902, is still in operation.
