In the 10th episode, players from the volleyball team "Aisin Tealmare Hekinan" based in Hekinan City will introduce the highlights of Hekinan City. There are many unique spot including sightseeing and gourmet food. Let’s go!

Aisin Tealmare Hekinan

Rooted in the Hekikai area and steadily grow

A men's volleyball team whose parent company is Aisin Sinei Co., Ltd., an auto parts manufacturer, and made up of Aisin Group employees. The team’s name is a combination of the English word “Teal” and the Italian word “Mare”, and was chosen with the hope of becoming a community-based corporate team. The team entered the V League (V3) in the 2020-21 season, however it declined to participate in the league due to Covid-19. The team successfully achieved V3 victory in the 2021-22 season, the first year of participation, and promoted to V2 from the following year. Last season, the team achieved a good 4th place finish with 16 wins and 11 losses, and are a team that has high expectations for this season as well.

Hekinan Seaside Aquarium

15 minutes walk from Hekinan Station on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line

A spectacular aquarium where parents and children can have fun learning about the ocean

This aquarium exhibits more than 260 species, mainly fish found along the coast of Japan. In addition to seeing rare creatures such as “Dragon's Baby” that can only be seen here in Japan, there are also many booths that will keep children fascinated, such as “Feeding Japanese Stone Turtles”. The exhibition area on the second floor has the main theme of “Water - From the Forest to the Sea”. There are many facilities that incorporates participatory exhibits that allow you to learn while playing.

15 minutes walk from Kitashinkawa Station on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line

Family-friendly playground for infant

All attractions such as go-karts, merry-go-rounds, ferris wheels, and cycle monorails can be enjoyed for just 100 yen, making it a popular children's amusement park for Hekinan residents. There are also areas that can be enjoyed for free, such as a complex playground equipment for small children and a lawn park, and is crowded with many parents and children on holidays. More than 250 Yoshino cherry trees bloom in spring. The area is also known locally as a cherry blossom viewing spot.

Fukumotoya

A long-established restaurant to enjoy "Hekinan Yakisoba" made with plenty of local specialties.

Hekinan Yakisoba, a local gourmet dish from Hekinan City, is based on a special white soy sauce flavor that is a blend of white soy sauce originating from Hekinan City, white dashi, Mikawa mirin, carrots, and onions, and is characterized by its light and elegant flavor. Fukumotoya's Hekinan Yakisoba is a dish packed with Hekinan's special products, topped with chewy thin noodles from a local noodle factory and topped with plenty of fresh local vegetables. The most popular “Fukumotoyaki'” is specialized in three layers of okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and tamagoyaki. You will absolutely feel to repeat.

A specialty store to observe the manufacturing process of shrimp crackers

A seafood rice cracker specialty store with 7 stores in the Mikawa area. You can sample and purchase a variety of seafood rice crackers, including “Tako Senbei”, which is characterized by a secret sauce made with Mikawa mirin and white soy sauce. “Taberin” is a popular item that is perfect as a gift, with 8 types of delicious rice crackers placed on an edible seafood rice cracker tray. There is a Tealmare booth at the entrance of the flagship store, where authentic uniforms actually used by players in games and autographed colored papers are displayed.

Yamashin Brewery

5 minutes walk from Kitashinkawa Station on the Meitetsu Mikawa Line

A soy source brewery since the Edo period.

A long-established store with a history of over 200 years, which continues to pursue new tastes while preserving the tradition of white soy sauce. Amber-colored white soy sauce is now used at dining tables across the country as a basic seasoning that brings out the mellow flavor while preserving the color of fresh wheat. At the brewery, you can observe the production process of white soy sauce.
