DAIDO STEEL Phenix in Tokai City
Tokai City is located in the northwestern part of the Chita Peninsula and is characterized by an industrial zone stretching along the Ise Bay.
Lined with steel plants of iron and steel manufacturers, the city is considered “the largest steel base in the Chubu region”.
The city is also known as “a town surrounded by greenery and orchids” due to its flourishing orchid cultivation.
Tokai Civic Gymnasium
The largest arena in the region where Tokai citizens gather
Daido Steel Phoenix's home games are held at “Tokai Civic Gymnasium”. It is equipped with a main arena, a training gym, and a martial arts hall. It is also a training site for the “Tokai Handball School”, a member of the Phenix family, where handball is enjoyed by people of all ages, from elementary school students to high school students and the general public. It is also a popular place for citizens to enjoy, with events sponsored by local sports clubs.

Oike Park: 5-minute drive from Tokai Civic Gymnasium
You can enjoy cherry blossom viewing, animals, and even sports
The park is located in the center of Tokai City adjacent to the city hall, library, and heated swimming pool. A large pond is surrounded by full of nature, and visitors can enjoy seasonal flowers and plants such as Japanese apricots, cherry blossoms, and irises, as well as a free zoo where they can meet adorable animals such as bantams, ponies, and peacocks. Naoya Takizawa likes to run on the jogging track in the park.

ICHIGONO HANA: 10-minute drive from Tokai Civic Gymnasium
Sweet and juicy! Large ripe strawberries
A strawberry farm opened in December 2020. The farm offers strawberry picking and sale, and its “Akihime” strawberries, which are large and sweet, are highly praised by Kazusa Harada. Local vegetables are also available for purchase at the direct sales counter on some days. Strawberry picking season is from late December to early June and reservation is required. Another fun part is meeting the adorable draw goat, Chuchu.

Jurakuen Park: 6-minute drive from Tokai Civic Gymnasium
Lots of facilities where families can enjoy!
The park complex is as large as the Oike Park, and includes a heated bathhouse with a heated swimming pool, a running course, a tea ceremony room, and other facilities. The large roller slide with large curves in the Trim Square is very popular among children. The 18.79-meter-high Jurakuen Giant Buddha sitting in the park is a powerful sight.

Atletes charge protein with fried chickens!
Kazusa Harada has been a big fan of this fried chicken specialty restaurant since he was a student. The restaurant has won the “Fried Chicken Grand Prix” many times in a row and anyone who is familiar with fried chicken knows this restaurant. In particular, the signature salted fried chicken (see picture below) made from the breast meat of “Okumikawa chiken”, a brand chicken of Aichi Prefecture, is a must-try.

Shrimp rice crackers
A famous confectionary that has been loved for over 130 years
“Ebi senbei” (shrimp crackers) have a history of being presented to the Owari Tokugawa family in the ancient times. They are produced in various parts of the prefecture, including the Chita Peninsula, and Aichi Prefecture is the largest producer in Japan. “BANKAKU Co., Ltd.”, whose head office is located in Tokai City, is a long-established business founded in 1889. In addition to "Yukari," the most popular souvenir of Aichi which has been popular for many years, the company's seafood rice cracker series, such as “Nagoya Gold Shrimp Tempura (mail order only),” which use local ingredients, are also popular.
