In the third edition, Yuma Hattori and Toshinobu Sato introduced Tahara City.
Yuma Hattori participated in the men's marathon in Tokyo 2020.
Toshinobu Sato is a general manager of TOYOTA LONG DISTANCE TEAM and Atsumi Peninsula Cheering Ambassador.

The sea breeze from Mikawa Bay supports the runners!

TOYOTA LONG DISTANCE TEAM is based at Toyota Motor Corporation's Tahara Plant, which faces Mikawa Bay.
After Toshinobu Sato, the current general manager, took over as director in 2008, the team has been consistently achieving good results.
The team won its first championship in the All-Japan Corporate Ekiden Championships (New Year Ekiden) in 2011 and won two championships in 2015 and 2016.
Yuma Hattori is training for the 2024 Paris Olympics under the theme "New Hattori".
We look forward to his future performance.

Mt Zao

Around 60-minutes drive from Tomei Highway Otowa-Gamagori IC

Enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of Mt. Fuji.

Its name comes from Zao Gongen, the main deity of Shugendo, enshrined near the mountaintop.
From the observation deck at an elevation of 250 meters, we can see the city of Tahara, the Pacific Ocean, Mikawa Bay, the Chita Peninsula, and Mt.Fuji on clear days.
There is also a hiking course to the observation deck where you can enjoy nature. It's recommended for those who want to exercise.
TOYOTA LONG DISTANCE TEAM also train once a week by running to the top of the mountain for morning practice. The observation deck also has a store, café, experience floor, and other facilities.

Pacific Ocean Long Beach

Around 70-minutes drive from Tomei Highway Otowa-Gamagori IC

A surfing paradise where surfers gather from all over the world.

The beach called "Katahama Jusan-ri" is in the middle of a 52 km sand which stretches from Hamana Lake to Hii no Sekimon.
The beauty of a 2-km-long beach is spectacular.
It is one of the best surfing spots in the country, where surfers come to look for great waves. It hosted the ISA World Surfing Games in 2018.

Irago Nanohana Garden

Around 90-minutes drive from Tomei Highway Otowa-Gamagori IC

Cute post with a field mustard color

A field of flowers is sure to be instagrammable. Field mustard is the flower of Tahara City. About 1.2 million field mustard blossoms are blooming on 4 hectares of land and just looking at them will make you feel happy.
The view of the carpet of yellow is one of Hattori's favorites.
The "Field mustard post" standing in the flower field is also popular and became a photo spot for visitors.
Every year from January to March, many people visits to join the "Atsumi Peninsula Field Mustard Festival."

Noboru restaurant

Around 60-minutes drive from Tomei Highway Otowa-Gamagori IC

A restaurant where you can eat every day and never get tired of it.

Located along the road to Tahara City, a restaurant popular among the local community.
A standard menu of rice bowls, set menus, and udon noodles are available.
Hattori's favorite is the unaju (eel bowl), a huge bowl of rice topped with one eel and a half more inside.
You will enjoy the crispy skin and fluffy meat with a sweet sauce.
Hattori says he always comes here to eat before a competition.

Irago Onsen


Hot spring with the sea and sky in front of you

A new hot spring in Tahara City opened in April 2022.
Many visitors come to the hot springs to enjoy the ocean, the sunset, and the starry sky.
There are four hotels where visitors can bathe in Irago onsen, even for people who came for one-day trips.
After a day of sightseeing in Tahara City, try the hot spring that will keep your body warm.

Cape Irago Lighthouse

Around 100-minute drive from Tomei Highway Otowa-Gamagori IC

The symbol of the Cape shines brightly.

A symbol of Tahara City that can be seen from Kamishima, is selected as one of "Japan's 50 Best Lighthouses." It stands at the very tip of the Atsumi Peninsula.
It has been watching over the safety of the sea since 1929.
The contrast between the blue sea and the white lighthouse is beautiful and romantic.
From the cape, you can see Kamishima Island, the setting of Yukio Mishima's novel "Shiosai." It's a secret spot where you can enjoy the fantastic view.
